Honestly the best pie I've ever had. Ordered a curry pie. Ate it up and had to go and try another one. This is my new go to place for a feed when I'm in the area now.
I stop through this bakery nearly daily to pick up breakfast and my work lunch, or a snack on the way home. The folks who run it are so friendly, prices are fair, and the food is tasty - especially the pork crackle banh mi!

This business is definitely a 5.That is the biggest egg sandwich i have ever brought, fresh, soft and tasty for $6....The owner is so friendly and chatty. He even carried the customers purchase to her car because she had a walking disability.
I am writing not for the yummy bread, not for the lovely service, not for the ice cold drinks on the hot day that was today. (Aloe vera for the win!) I don't even write about the meat pie my son always loves. I am moved to public discourse for one thing. The curry. W.o.w! It tastes authentically made by the hand of someone who has made this dish lovingly for years. Thats when you know you've eaten something special. When it feels as though you've stepped into another world and been politely invited to their table and this is a family favourite dish they prepare for themselves and you have the honour of also enjoying. I dont know who made this meal I just feel so lucky to have spied it and given it a go. A curry from a bakery, what could go wrong? Nothing. Not a thing. It was oh. so. right. A true pleasure that I worry now, as I write this, will I encourage its scarcity as they only seem to sell a few at a time.... Leftovers from their actual lunch? Maybe... All I really want to say is a resounding thankyou. It's absolutely delicious and I will be back for it again very very soon. And a loaf of bread. Because, we ALWAYS need one of those toodont we!? Banh mi and vanilla slice also exceptionally made notable mentions.😊 I should have taken photos but we ate it all too quickly! Next time!
Pretty good banh mi by Vietnamese standards. Bread could have been a bit more crunchy but the fillings were good. Reasonable price too!
I bought some Milk Bread to try from Hawthorne Bakery and it was so beautiful. I highly recommend trying it. I often buy lunch from their large variety of foods. Have NEVER been disappointed. The staff are really friendly and helpful, it is a real pleasure shopping there.
Best of the best service, food, variety of beautiful everything. I live in Logan and used to drive to Yatla, now Hawthorne Bakery. More convenient location, beautiful area, fantastic park across the street and the prices are so readable compared to Yatla pies. If I'm in the area I'll pick up a curry, stir fry for the family. Heat up when you get home. Even cold is amazing. The service and friendly staff make me want to visit. Feels like home, they make the best of everything.
